Food is how
I explore the world
Every city I've worked in, every conference I've attended, every new country I've visited. The first thing I do is find the best local food. The best ideas come from long dinners and even longer conversations.
“Good food is like good code. It looks simple, but there's tremendous craft underneath.”
Something I firmly believe
Favourite Cuisines & Foods
Ramen
A bowl of tonkotsu on a cold evening is the closest thing to a warm hug.
Slow-cooked curries
The kind that take 4 hours and fill the whole house with aroma.
Wood-fired pizza
Thin crust, simple toppings, a raging fire. Nothing more needed.
Indian street food
Pani puri, chole bhature, pav bhaji. The best food is always made for eating standing up.
Baked items
Fresh sourdough, croissants, pastries. Anything that comes out of a hot oven.
Coffee
Single origin, pour-over, light roast. My morning ritual is non-negotiable.
Cities & Their Food
Mumbai
Vada pav from the street cart outside Dadar station at 9am.
Hometown food always hits different.
Bangalore
Filter coffee and dosa at MTR, then biryani at the end of a long week.
Where my career started. The food was compensation enough.
Dubai
Al Ustad Special Kabab at 1am after a long work session.
Dubai nights are made for eating.
Chiang Mai
Khao soi from a tiny shop on Nimman road, followed by mango sticky rice at the night market.
The best Thai food I've ever had, and I've been looking for a match since.
New York
A slice of pizza folded in half walking through Manhattan, then a bagel with lox the next morning.
NYC proves that great food doesn't need a dress code.
On the road
Anything I can find at a local market, eaten without a fork.
The best meals rarely come with a reservation.
Running + Food = Balance
4 half marathons and 3 10k runs means I've earned my pasta. Running gives me the mental clarity to debug hard problems, and great food gives me the energy to keep building. The two are inseparable.
